Who is Behind The Open Door?
The Open Door is a production of Sounds True, an audio publishing company founded by Tami Simon in 1985. Sounds True has created an audio archive of over 600 audio learning programs, and The Open Door is excerpted from this archive.
Tami Simon actually began her career “on the air” at the age of 21 as a radio interviewer for KGNU, Boulder County Public Radio in Colorado. She started Sounds True with the intention to distribute wisdom teachings as broadly as possible. For the past twenty years, she has served as executive producer and interviewer for all Sounds True productions, and is now the voice behind The Open Door.
To launch The Open Door, Sounds True has collaborated with 25-year radio professional Joe Bevilacqua. Joe Bevilacqua has worked in every facet of radio from award-winning documentary (Lady Bird Johnson: Legacy of a First Lady) to radio theatre (The Whithering of Willoughby and the Professor). He is a frequent contributor to National Public Radio and hosts a weekly program The Comedy-O-Rama Hour heard on XM Satellite Radio's Sonic Theatre Channel and public radio stations nationwide.
